Emeraldalicious by Victoria Kann is part of the Pinkalicious series of elementary books. The cover reveals that Victoria Kann is a #1 New York Times Bestselling Author-Artist, which makes me such a fan – she not only creates the art but uses it to tell a fun story. Awesome!
This book is a vibrant, beautiful story with a few poems tucked in purely for reader enjoyment. I imagine myself as a teacher, reading this to a class of elementary kiddos, watching their imaginations grow with each flip of the page. My daughter read it to her brother when she was upper elementary and he was preschool.
What I disliked:
I hate to say it, but I was not excited about the ending. I wanted a dramatic ending, one as dramatic as the main characters, but every other page was amazing.
What I liked:
I love the Pinkalicious series, so I’m kind of biased. I love the characters, possibly because they remind me of my two kids, but I also love their zest for life and imagination. I love how they creatively use the world around them to produce creatively fun scenarios. This book was magical and amazing, one of my favorites.
Where to find it:
I purchased mine second hand from a teacher, but you can find your hard cover copy on Amazon for less than $12 here.
