Meet Me at the Moon by Gianna Marino is a precious book made over the top excellent by its incredible illustrations. The book speaks of ways that we connect with our children, even if we can’t physically be there.
What I disliked:
As a Christian I struggle with praying to the sky for anything, but it’s just one sentence in the book and I just reworded it for my littles.
What I liked:
I loved the heart felt connection the mother displayed for her calf, and the way the calf searched for that love in all kinds of weather, from sunny to stormy. Its literary parallel to life as we get older couldn’t have been told any more artistically. The way it brought emotions alive on the pages and in my heart were amazing.
Where to find it:
Once again we were blessed by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. You can find yours for less than $14 on Amazon, a fair price for a hard covered version of the story.
